Crew Brand Ambassador Frankie Hejduk is no stranger to alternative modes of four-wheel transportation.The Southern California native can typically be seen every Friday during the summer months carving up the sidewalks of High Street, spreading his "Crew love" around Columbus on his skateboard while stopping into his favorite coffee shops and brew pubs.
Currently in Florida with the team for preseason training, Hejduk couldn't resist the urge to join some skaters at a local skatepark in Bradenton when the Black & Gold took part in beach training on Thursday. Hejduk took matters into his own hands, purchasing a board from a nearby pawn shop. This was the result of Brand Ambassador's impulse buy:
Last week, Crew defender Chad Barson asked fans to come up with a Twitter handle for him using #BarsonTweets after he finally decided to join the social network. On Friday, Chad revealed he has decided on a name and has a tweet planned for the weekend.

Crew Homegrown Players Matt Lampson and Wil Trapp spent Wednesday afternoon shooting a promo video for ReVision Advanced Laser Eye Care Center that will run during the Black & Gold's matches this season. The duo recently underwent LASIK correction in December as part of the Crew's new partnership with ReVision, making it the exclusive LASIK provider of the Columbus Crew. The two shared testimonials of the benefits LASIK correction has provided in the players' lives on and off the soccer field ahead of the official start of the Black & Gold's preseason on January 24.

adidas revealed brazuca, its match ball for the 2014 FIFA World Cup in Brazil, on Tuesday. "Brazuca" is a local in the country meaning "Brazilian."

The Crew and Crew Stadium have been nominated for three of Columbus Underground's Best of 2013 awards in the magazine's annual survey of all things Columbus. After another successful year of Rock on the Range and a sold-out Kenny Chesney concert, Crew Stadium is up for Best Local Music Venue while the 2014 World Cup Qualifier between the USA and Mexico at Crew Stadium is nominated for Best Event or Festival. Additionally, the Black & Gold are up for Best Sports Team.
