Like Brian Bliss and Duncan Oughton, Crew goalkeeper William Hesmer weighed in on his All-Time MLS Best XI. Hesmer deviated from Bliss and Oughton's 3-5-2 formation to go with a 4-1-4-1 look. The veteran 'keeper chose a very American-laden lineup with the exception of Canadian Dwayne De Rosario and former Crew teammate Guillermo Barros Schelotto, check it out:

Thirteen years ago today the Columbus Crew opened Crew Stadium before a sold-out crowd of 24,741, the first MLS stadium built specifically for soccer in the United States as the Crew beat the New England Revolution 2-0. Jeff Cunningham scored the first goal in Crew Stadium history beating Revs goalkeeper Walter Zenga in the 10th minute. Stern John added the second goal in the 59th minute.

As part of MLS Supporters Week, former MLSers and Crew front office personnel Brian Bliss and Duncan Oughton took the time out of their Monday to choose their All-Time MLS Best XIs. Bliss took the time to list all the candidates he felt were qualified at each position and narrowed the list down one by one. Oughton went the extra mile and included a bench to his list.

With FC Dallas pressuring for a late equalizer, Crew goalkeeper Andy Gruenebaum showed off his foot skills, juking Dallas midfielder Andrew Jacobsen. Here's what the Hammer had to say after the match about his shake-and-bake:
"Honestly, I know everyone was a little bit nervous, but I think all the guys will back me up on this: I probably have one of the better touches on the team. It shows in 5v2 every day and I'm confident. I didn't get the look I wanted. I was trying to play Gehrig. I was trying to tell Gehrig to show in the middle because there was space and he didn't. By the time I had to make a decision, the guy was on me, so I just juked him. I promise that's the last time that will happen--"
"Yeah… Yeah, it will be," interjected Danny O' Rourke.
"...Unless it happens again," Gruenebaum finished.
I think it's safe to say that despite Gruenebaum's prowess with the ball at his feet, Robert Warzycha won't be putting him at forward any time soon.
Several MLSers talk about their favorite player which happens to hold a special place in our hearts, Brian McBride.
FOX Sports Ohio's Duncan Oughton previews the Pioneer Cup:

For those soccer players who like to support a good cause, you should check out the Heroes Cup 6v6 adult soccer tournament taking place at Buckeye Lake on June 23rd and 24th. The event honors Columbus native Shawn Hannon who recently lost his life while serving in Afghanistan.
