The Black & Gold travel to Texas on Sunday (8:30 p.m. ET / FOX Sports Ohio) for their only meeting with FC Dallas this season. The Crew evened up the all-time series between the two clubs at 17-17-8 across all competitions last season with a 2-1 victory in Columbus. Before the Black & Gold and the Hoops meet on Sunday, let's take a look back at last year's match.

MAY 12: Crew 2 - FCD 1

The home side was put on its heels early when Fabian Castillo slipped past the Crew defense to put Dallas ahead 1-0 in the 22nd minute. Momentum shifted in the 63rd minute when FC Dallas defender Zach Loyd was booked for his second yellow card, putting his side down to 10 men. Four minutes later, Justin Meram found the net for the first time in his young career to even things up at 1-1 and insire his team to push for a winner. In the 72nd minute, Nemanja Vukovic and Sebastian Miranda connected on a corner kick with the Chilean defender heading home the winner from 20 yards out. The strike helped the Crew retain the Lamar Hunt Pioneer Cup in what would be the final match in which both clubs were owned by Hunt Sports Group.

Prior to the USA vs. Mexico World Cup Qualifier at Crew Stadium on September 10th, MLS WORKS partnered with the Columbus Crew to conduct a Crew Massive Makeover of the Linden Village Green Space Community Garden.

The beautification was an opportunity for staff members from various MLS Clubs and the League office to give back to the Linden community while in town for the MLS Business Summit.

MLS joined community volunteers to carryout various activities including building a fence on the property, assembling a storage unit, patio and pergola, installing benches and a swing, planting flowers and trees and prepping planters for next season’s vegetables.  The day of service was part of “Community Care Day” in the City of Columbus and is in conjunction with the Greater Linden Development Corporation and the United Way of Columbus.  Davey Tree, JD Equipment and Scotts Miracle Gro donated time, staff, equipment, product and expertise to complete this project.

Saturday’s match marks the 50th regular-season meeting between the Crew and the Fire dating back to 1998. The Crew has secured points in 25 of those meetings, posting a 12-24-13 record. Interim Head Coach Brian Bliss did not face the Fire when with the Wizards as a player in 1998 but did see Chicago in his previous interim role with Kansas City in 2006, falling to the Fire in the lone meeting.
