The Crew Soccer Foundation is proud to announce the creation of the Kirk Urso Memorial Fund. The Fund provides a platform to develop and support youth heart health research and programming to honor the memory of Crew midfielder Kirk Urso. Urso passed away suddenly at the age of 22 of an Arrhythmogenic Right Ventricular Cardiomyopathy on August 4, 2012. For more information and to donate
The Crew Soccer Foundation has kicked off its 2013 Referee Scholarship. The scholarship assists youngsters ages 14 to 18 who have the desire but not the means to obtain referee training, certification and a uniform. To learn more, please call the Crew Soccer Foundation at (614) 447-4174.
INNIS PARK FIELD REFURBISHMENT PROJECT
The Crew Soccer Foundation has partnered with MLS W.O.R.K.S., Scotts Miracle-Gro and the Columbus Recreation and Parks Department to create four new soccer fields at Innis Park, located in Northeast Columbus. The goal of this initiative is to create soccer space and programming for New Americans and inner-city youth in this area.
SOCCER AID
Soccer Aid is a unique annual fundraiser which capitalizes on soccer fans’ passion for the sport to raise money for charitable causes, including the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation. Our Soccer Aid Sports Memorabilia Auction & Raffle gives fans the opportunity to win unique items from sports stars around the world and assist JDRF in its mission to find a cure for type 1 diabetes and its complications.Through its first nine years, Soccer Aid has raised more than $36,000 (over $30,000 net) for the Mid-Ohio Chapter of the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF), which remains the program's primary beneficiary.
U.S. SOCCER FOUNDATION PASSBACK PROGRAM
In partnership with Major League Soccer, the Columbus Crew and the Crew Soccer Foundation support the U.S. Soccer Foundation's Passback Program. This initiative offers fans the chance to donate new and gently used soccer equipment at a selected Crew game each season. Each year the Crew Soccer Foundation designates a beneficiary to receive such donations.
NAME IN LIGHTS PROGRAM
Wish that special someone, "Happy Birthday," "Happy Anniversary" or "Welcome" in a special way – let them see their "Name in Lights!" For a $50 contribution to the Crew Soccer Foundation, the Crew will display your message on Crew Stadium's video board and announce it over the public address system. CREW SOCCER FOUNDATION HEROES LEAGUE
The Crew Soccer Foundation Heroes League presented by Donate Life is designed to teach soccer and reinforce life skills for at-risk youth in Columbus.
In conjunction with the U.S. Soccer Foundation, MLS W.O.R.K.S., adidas, FieldTurf and Korda, we are proud to present Crew Soccer Foundation Field. The project, three years in the making, has transformed the area north of the Stadium Club at Crew Stadium into a beautiful synthetic mini-pitch. This initiative will provide a unique recreational outlet and soccer programming for at-risk children.
Crew players, celebrities and donors annually hit the links for the Crew Soccer Foundation Golf Classic. The event has raised nearly $14,000 since 2011 to support Crew Soccer Foundation programming for at-risk youth. For video of the 2012 Golf Classic click here
Kick for Kids Night
Each year the Crew Soccer Foundation hosts more than 3,000 youth from child focused non-profit organizations on Kicks for Kids Night presented by Cardinal Health. This unique program provides Crew game tickets to at-risk children who would not otherwise have the opportunity to see professional soccer in action. Kicks for Kids participants take part in on-field experiences and receive halftime recognition. For more information on how you can support Kicks for Kids.
CSF is developing healthy lifestyles programming for youth that will focus on heart disease and risk prevention, concussion awareness and childhood obesity. Such programming will include soccer clinics and leagues emphasizing fitness, nutrition, and disease/injury prevention education. Click here for more information.
