Crew Juniors affiliate places nine teams in Finals, takes home five State Titles

CUP Crew Juniors, the Crew Juniors affiliate in Cincinnati, recently finished an extremely successful run at the US Youth Soccer 2010 Ohio South State Cup, held in Cincinnati, Dayton and Columbus May 8-9 and May 15-16.

The unprecedented run for the CUP Crew Juniors began with 33 boys and girls teams competing in the Round of 16 of the Ohio South State Cup, with 23 of those teams advancing to the Round of Eight. Fifteen CUP Crew Juniors teams then advanced to the Semifinal round, before nine of those teams found themselves in the Finals, by far the most of any club. In the midst of this success, CUP Crew Juniors placed a boys team in the Final in every age group, a remarkable accomplishment that highlights the depth and overall system that Cincinnati United and the CUP Crew Juniors have built.

“We’re very proud to have the CUP Crew Juniors as our partner.  The first two years of the relationship have gone extremely well, and we’re excited to continue to build the Crew Juniors model with them to provide an unparalleled opportunity and experience for our players,” said Crew Vice President of Soccer Business Development Andrew Arthurs. “Their unprecedented success in the recent State Cup validates the great work that they’re doing on and off of the field.  We wish them the best at the Region II championships in Dayton.”

In all, CUP Crew Juniors took home five State Titles on the final day of play (May 16) in the 2010 Ohio South State Cup. Specifically, the U-11 boys CUP Crew Juniors Boca Juniors squad defeated Team Ohio FC 7-0, the U-15 boys CUP Crew Juniors Gold team won 1-0 over Classics Eagles Red, the U-16 boys CUP Crew Juniors Gold squad defeated Blast FC 3-2, the U-17 boys CUP Crew Juniors Gold II team downed Team Ohio COSA 3-2, and the CUP Crew Juniors U-18 boys defeated Kolping Premier 2-1.
