As the Crew closes in on its third successive playoff berth, two-game playoff ticket packages will go on sale to the general public this Wednesday, Sept. 22. Each package includes both of the Crew’s potential playoff games – the one guaranteed game in the first round and the Eastern Conference Championship it could host if it advances out of the first round – along with a commemorative scarf.

Prices range from $40-$76 for adults and $30-$76 for youth (under 18), and they will be available to the general public starting at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the Crew Stadium Box Office and all central Ohio Ticketmaster retail locations, via Ticketmaster phone at 800-745-3000 and on-line at TheCrew.com and Ticketmaster.com. The design of this year’s scarf was selected through fan voting at TheCrew.com.

Crew Soccer Nation Black and Gold members have received an exclusive presale offer to secure their season seats. Playoff pairings, dates and times have not been determined yet. The Crew currently leads the Eastern Conference with a 13-7-5 record and 44 points, three points ahead of the New York Red Bulls (12-8-5, 41 pts.).

The top two teams in each conference, along with the teams with the next four best records regardless of conference, will qualify for the MLS Cup 2010 Playoffs. The first round – conference semifinals – are two-game, total-goals series, with the first game being played at the lower seed’s home field and Game 2 at the higher seed’s home. The Conference Championship matches are single games at the home of the highest surviving seed in each conference. MLS Cup 2010 is scheduled for Sunday, Nov. 21, at BMO Field in Toronto.

The Crew won its first MLS Cup title to cap a storybook 2008 season and followed that up in 2009 with its second straight Supporters’ Shield title and advancement to the 2009/10 CONCACAF Champions League Quarterfinals. The Black & Gold’s next crack at hardware is Oct. 5, when it will square off against the Seattle Sounders at Qwest Field in the 2010 Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup Final.

Founded by American sports pioneer Lamar Hunt, the Columbus Crew is Ohio's Major League Soccer club, anchoring a diverse sports and entertainment enterprise. One of the league's Charter Members, it won its first MLS Cup championship in 2008 and has also won the 2002 U.S. Open Cup and MLS Supporters’ Shield titles in 2004, 2008 and 2009. It is currently in its 15th season overall and 12th in first-of-its-kind Columbus Crew Stadium.
