COLUMBUS – Columbus Crew Homegrown Player Wil Trapp has been called-in for United States Under-20 Men’s National Team duty for the 2013 FIFA U-20 World Cup – hosted by Turkey – from June 21 through July 13, 2013. The United States has been drawn into Group A along with Ghana, France and Spain.

Sixteen of the players who competed in the Toulon Tournament in France from May 28 - June 8 will feature in U.S. Under-20 Men’s National Team head coach Tab Ramos’ roster. The United States finished in fourth place of Group A in the recent tournament.

The Americans open Group A play against Spain on Friday, June 21, at Ali Sami Yen Arena in Istanbul. The match will be broadcast at 1:45 p.m. ET, live on ESPN2 and WatchESPN. That is followed by a June 24 game against France in Istanbul, live on ESPN2 and WatchESPN at 10:45 a.m. ET. The U.S. closes out group play with a June 27 match against Ghana at Kadir Has Stadium in Kayseri, Turkey, at 12:45 p.m. ET, live on ESPNU and WatchESPN.

Trapp is one of eight U-20 players with current MLS ties, and he joins Crew Technical Director Brian Bliss in Turkey, who serves as an Assistant Coach on Ramos’ staff. Trapp was named to the CONCACAF U-20 Championship All-Tournament Team earlier this year.
