 ·         With just about a month left in the regular season, playoff races in both conferences are air tight. Narrow margins of six and seven points separate third from eighth place in the Eastern and Western Conferences respectively. Zach Slaton of Forbes.com uses a match simulator called the ‘MLS EI Model’ to simulate who will be in and out of playoff contention come season’s end.
 

·         The past few games have seen a rise in form from many Crew players, including midfielder Tony Tchani. Tchani was an integral part of the Black & Gold’s 3-0 win over Chicago, recording his first assist of the season and earning Man of the Match honors from MLSsoccer.com.
