At Tuesday night's Crew awards ceremony, club President and General Manager and Crew Soccer Foundation President Mark McCullers announced that the Kirk Urso Memorial Fund reached its goal of raising $100,000 in 2013. The players also voted for Eric Gehrig to receive the second Kirk Urso Heart Award. Fifteen months after Urso's tragic passing, TheCrew.com's Steve Sirk takes a look back at the lasting impact the midfielder has had on the club.

The team awards ceremony was also an opportunity to recognize some of the players that shone brightest in Black & Gold during the 2013 season. Awards were handed out to Crew Captain and Designated Player Federico Higuain (Barbasol Most Valuable Player), defender Chad Marshall (Defender of the Year), and Homegrown Player Wil Trapp (Breakout Performance of the Year), among others. Adam Jardy from the Columbus Dispatch has a full recap of Tuesday's event.

Second-year forward Aaron Schoenfeld continues to make headlines since his standout performance in Saturday's match at New England. After providing an assist and scoring a stunning goal that was nominated for MLSsoccer.com's Goal of the Week, Schoenfeld was featured in a piece by Andrew King from MLSsoccer.com on Wednesday.
