Renewal deadline for current Gold Level season ticket members is Friday, October 18
COLUMBUS – The Columbus Crew announced today that the deadline for current Crew Soccer Nation Gold Level Season Ticket Members to renew their seats for 2014 at the best price is this Friday, October 18. After this date, their seats will be made available at the club’s Select-A-Seat event on Saturday, October 26.
Although the deadline for existing season ticket members to keep their same seats for 2014 is this Friday, the current pricing window to receive the top value on 2014 season tickets will end after the October 27 regular-season finale at Crew Stadium – also known as FANdemonium – against the New England Revolution. With two regular-season matches remaining in 2013 and six League points on the table, the Crew continues to make a fervent push for the MLS Cup Playoffs, sitting five points behind the fifth and final Eastern Conference postseason position. The team opens a critical home-and-home series this weekend in Massachusetts on Saturday, October 19 (7:30 p.m. ET / FOX Sports Ohio) before returning home to host the Revs in a clash that will feature more than 20,000 prizes in the club’s fan appreciation match.
Presently, there is a waiting list for Crew Premier Season Tickets – which includes Center Circle Club seats, Premiere East Seats and Scotts Field Seats. Renewed accounts and fans on the waiting list will be given priority to purchase available seats at the October 26 Select-A-Seat Event. The event, in its third year of existence, allows for Crew Season Ticket Holders to relocate or upgrade their season ticket location in-person based on tenure.
“We have experienced tremendous growth with our Crew Soccer Nation Season Ticket Memberships since we launched our Goal 10K initiative to reach 10,000 season tickets,” said Crew Senior Vice President of Sales and Marketing Mike Malo. “The popularity of soccer in our region and throughout the U.S. right now is unprecedented, and the momentum we’ve experienced with the Crew is indicative of a fan base that is becoming more emotionally connected to our club and our sport.”
The Crew is leading Major League Soccer in average year-over-year attendance increases for 2013, representing an 11% increase to date. Last season, the Crew saw an 18% increase in year-over-year attendance and was second in the League in this category, behind only the Houston Dynamo, who opened their new home BBVA Compass Stadium in 2012. Over the past two seasons, the Crew has increased its season ticket base by more than 55%, which ranks the club at the top of the League in this category.
“Goal 10K is certainly in our sights,” continued Malo. “We believe that the excitement around our new ownership and the direction of our club is going to be the catalyst to push us across the finish line and beyond.”
