PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE
2014 (Columbus/Dayton): Sweat did not make an appearance during the 2014 season. He played with the Dayton Dutch Lions on a game-by-game loan and appeared in seven matches. He returned to the field for the club’s international friendly versus Crystal Palace FC (July 23), coming on as a halftime substitute at leftback. He returned to Dayton for three additional starts. He did not dress for the club’s postseason opener against New England (November 1) or in the second leg at the Revolution (November 9). Sweat made his professional debut in a start at leftback in the Fifth Round of the 2014 Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup tournament and added an assist -- he provided the helper on Jairo Arrieta’s bicycle-kick goal in the Fifth Round loss at Chicago (June 25) after earning the start at leftback.
COLLEGE EXPERIENCE
A 6-foot-2, 175 pound defender, Sweat was the University of South Florida’s all-time leader in appearances with 78 in his four-year college career. During his freshmen season, he helped anchor a back line that posted 10 shutouts. Following a two-goal season as a sophomore (2012), he was second on the team in assists in 2011, recording a career-high five helpers while also helping lead the Bulls’ defense to seven shutouts. During his final season, the Palm Harbor, Fla. Native started all 21 games and helped lead the defense to eight shutouts en route to being named first team All-America Conference.
YOUTH AND CLUB EXPERIENCE
Sweat played for Palm Harbor University High School where he was named a two-time Pinellas County Player of the Year (2009-2010) by the St. Petersberg Times. He was a first team All-County and was a member of the All-Pinellas County Athletic Conference first team in his junior and senior seasons. During his final two years of high school, his team was crowned 2009 Florida State 5A champion and was the 6A state runner-up in 2010. Sweat captained the Clearwater Chargers U-18 Academy Team in the U.S. Soccer Development Academy.
Sweat was also a member of the Columbus Crew Juniors Super-20 side that took home the 2011 National Title alongside Homegrown Players Chad Barson, Ben Speas, Matt Walker and Ross Friedman. In 2013, Sweat played with Premier Development League side Reading United in 2013 and recorded one goal and two assists in eight games. Additionally, Sweat played every minute of Reading United’s run to the Third Round of the 2013 Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup.

Sweat was selected in the First Round (14th overall) of the 2014 MLS SuperDraft, agreed to terms on Feb. 14, 2014.
PERSONAL
Sweat is the son of Jon and Jennifer Sweat. His favorite non-MLS club to support is Tottenham and he is a fan of Gareth Bale. In his spare time, Sweat enjoys golfing and watching movies. His favorite types of movies are horror films and comedies, with his go-to flick as “Anchorman.” He lists he favorite vacation destination as the Grand Canyon and would enjoy visiting Hawaii someday. Sweat listens to classic and house music and lists his father as his role model. Outside of MLS, Sweat supports the Chicago Bears. Sweat played baseball in high school in addition to soccer. His favorite soccer memory to date was being drafted by the Black & Gold in the 2014 MLS SuperDraft.
