PROSFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE

2013 Season: Has not made a regular-season appearance in 2013 ... was called-in to U.S. Men’s Under-20s camp in Carson, Calif. for training (April 22-April 29) and missed the Crew’s match against D.C. United (April 27) ... dressed for the first time this season in the match against Colorado (May 11) but did not make an appearance.

2013 Reserve League: Has made three appearances -- including one start -- at midfield ... made his first start of the season at New York (March 31) ... was a second-half substitute against New York (May 4).

COLLEGE EXPERIENCE

The midfielder started 45 matches for the Zips in two seasons at Akron. He finished his college career with eight assists and one goal. INTERNATIONAL EXPERIENCE

Trapp is a member of the U.S. U-20 National Team, helping the team qualify for the 2013 FIFA U-20 World Cup. The midfielder earned a 2013 CONCACAF U-20 Championship Best XI selection, scoring one goal in the tournament. Trapp also competed with the U-14, U-15 and U-18 National Teams.

YOUTH EXPERIENCE

Trapp won 2010 NSCAA National High School Player of the Year. The midfielder was the fifth-ranked recruit in the country by both Top Drawer Soccer and College Soccer News and a Top Drawer Soccer five-star recruit. Trapp served as Crew Soccer Academy team captain for the U-16 and U-18 age groups and was two-time Columbus Crew Academy player of the year (2009, 2010). Trapp wn the Ohio Gatorade Player of the Year (2009) and compiled a 41-1-2 record over a two-year high school career at Gahanna. He helped the Golden Lions' clinch their first national championship in 2009 with the game-winning penalty kick in the shootout. Trapp was a two-time high school All-American.
 

PERSONAL

Trapp's parents are John and Liz Trapp and he has an older brother, Christian and a sister, Julia. His grandfather emigrated from Greece where he played semi-professional soccer. He sang choir at Gahanna Lincoln. Trapp enjoys reading, studying Spanish and playing poker. He graduated in the top five percent of his high school senior class with a cumulative GPA of 3.9.
